Kaden's Winter Concert

Last Friday night was Kaden's Preschool Winter Concert. We were really nervous about how the night would go since Kade is still really, really shy when it comes to certain school things, but he did Awesome! You never would have known he was shy at all! They sang a bunch of songs and then we had cookies and lemonaid. How perfect! :)
I didn't take many pictures b/c I was feeling kind of yucky waiting for the baby to come, but I still wanted to post the few I had b/c we were just so proud of him!

Kaden and his bud Jackson- they both love their "Shark Dude" hair!

Some Random Hospital Shots

This is the awesome Cow stuffed animal that Jess and Kev got for Callen. The nurses all loved it!
Just a cute sleeping baby with a super hip blanket :)
A view in the the bassinet...
The pretty pictures that the kids made for Callen during their visit. The "Today is Callen" was just us determining the spelling of his name on the day he was born :)

Major oversight...

I completely failed to mention that Jess took all the wonderful pics during labor for us! She did a great job and I was so happy to have my best friend taking the pictures. Jess was a little nervous b/c our friend Staci (we did miss you Staci) took the ones when Kira was born and she's a professional, but Jess did great and we were so happy with the pictures. They're ones we'll treasure forever! So, sorry girl that I completely gave you NO credit last night :) That's what you get from a tired blogger!

Kira welcomes Callen

When Kira woke up from her morning nap we had already arrived home from the hospital. She was very excited to come over and aquaint herself with her baby brother. She looks so sleepy in these pictures (she wasn't crying, her eyes were just glossy from waking up) but I love the look of wonder and excitement on her face.

Callen Hayes... Up Close

I have TONS of pictures to edit and look through... tonight I just looked through some that I took this afternoon. I wanted some close-ups of his little details :) I didn't get many, but a few. I'll try again tomorrow.
So here are some of my favorite parts of the little man...

Callen's Birth Slideshow 2.08.09

A few things to mention...
1- Lots of the "in pain" picures are my feeble attempts at acting! We took "fake contraction pictures!"
2-Dr. Kupersmith was hysterical and couldn't help but smile at the camera!
3- The picture of Dr. K looking so crazy was during one of our "fake contraction" pictures! The nurses even got into it!
4. Be kind, I look pretty wretched in most of the pics, but come on... I was having a baby! :)
5- Eric is the best support person ever! He's wonderfully encouraging and I love him!
The slideshow can also be seen larger at the bottom of the page.

Update

Well it's Tuesday morning... the day we thought Callen and I would be heading home...BUT last night I got a call from Eric at 2am that Kenzie was up all night throwing up. By 6am Eric and Kira had it as well. So, now we'll be staying in the hospital until tomorrow afternoon. Fortunately, since Callen was born after 6pm on Sunday, they give the option of him staying until Wed. or we could have signed him out early today. I will be officially discharged this morning, but I will be allowed to stay in an extra room until he's discharged tomorrow. It's the same thing I did with Kira. I didn't quite plan on needing money for meals (of course I didn't bring my wallet) or bringing my own Tylenol, or needing extra outfits, but Eric's dad is going to pick up my supplies and bring them to me later tonight! :)

Eric's mom is wonderful, and she's up at the house with Eric, Kenzie, and Kira. Eric is getting some sleep (he was up all night with the girls and also getting sick himself) and Laurie is disinfecting and washing sheets and blankets while the girls rest.

My mom was awesome too! She quickly came and got Kaden (the only one who didn't have the bug) and took him to her house for a special "Mom-mom Day!" So far Kaden's fine... I actually think he started the whole thing a few days ago (he had some tummy trouble of his own) but it passed really quickly. So we're just hoping he's in the clear.

Callen is doing wonderfully! He's sooo sweet and good! He's a great eater and so far has a really chill disposition. I'm enjoying having lots of mommy time with him here at the hospital-especially since I know I have a crazy life to return home to in a just a few days! :)

Please be praying that everyone gets better soon and also that we can clean and disinfect the house well enough that Callen and I will not get the bug when we get home tomorrow (I'm thrilled it's supposed to be 65 degrees tomorrow b/c we can open all the windows and air out!)

Sorry for no pictures still. It's killing me more than you know!

Callen Hayes Mangin

He's Here!!
Callen (who was temporarily named Nolan for a few hours) arrived last night at 9:42pm. He weighed 8lbs 2oz and was 21 inches long.

He has a full head of dark hair and is sportin' the Mangin family butt chin! :)

We got to the hospital at 7:30pm and about 2 hrs later he made his grand appearance! Everyone is doing well and the kids are so excited to come and meet him later today.

I'm writing this from the hospital and the wireless is a little shaky, so pictures will come soon! If you want to see some, check out Jess' blog... www.jacksonfamilyof3.blogspot.com (or use the link on the sidebar) She already has pics up! :)

"Soon" is a 4 letter word

Just FYI...
There is a reason that soon has 4 letters in it.
It's a very, very bad word in this household!

Baby Photo Shoot

So I went to Joanne's to get some new fabrics for backdrops for pics when the little man arrives. I got 3 that I really like and I wanted to see how they'd look with the natural light in our kitchen. Of course Kira had to attack! She really does- she lunges for the camera. I snapped these while she was approaching me swinging her hands at the camera! She is such a monster!!

Then we started our photo shoot. Since I don't have a tiny baby, Kira kindly donated hers. She was the perfect model... flexible, not fussy, withstood Kira's abuse... and those blue eyes... :)
So yes, I'm bored and desperate to have this kid...

B and W
this blue bring out her eyes nicely
Ahh the baby toes.
She's just a sweetie...
Although her eyes do freak me out a tad bit

She really liked this side pose... Such a cooperative kid
Got a little fussy so Kira suggested a bottle. Worked like a charm
Look at that content baby
Again, toes... couldn't you just eat them up?? Kira actually does from time to time. :)

"Soon"

Today we had a Dr. Appointment and we've at least made some good progress! The doctor said to expect the little man either tonight or tomorrow morning. :) So, we're trying not to to get our hopes up, but if you know me....that's not easy! So hopefully my next post will be of the little man.

YMCA B-ball

Kenzie is really enjoying basketball at the Y. She gets a little antsy, because it's 90 minutes long, but she's doing really well!

A little warm-up
Seriously look at the determination on her face! :)
She's really good on defense, we're still working on offense. She is so glued to the "spot" that they told her to run to that she stands behind the defense... we're working on it :)

I'm pretty sure she totally blocked this kid's shot! Rejection!!
hehe!
Go team!
I must note... there was this one little kid on the green team that came over and was shooting around after the game and said to us, "Red team Stinks... we won!" and I said, "No everyone had fun and did their best. Wasn't it fun?" and he said, "No red stinks!" Let me tell you it was all Eric and I could do not to mention that there is a good chance his parents don't even love him and that he was a full foot shorter than our daughter! Grrr...

Our smallest Superstar!
Little lady thinks she's sooo big!

New Birthday Song

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me...
All I want for my birthday,
Is this baby outside of me!
