My crazy little lady turns 3 today! She is so special and brings so much joy and laughter into my life.
Her birth was definitely one of the most memorable too b/c she was a month early and also it was after an insane weekend! Prego me thought a big games couple challenge (complete with golfing 9 holes, air hockey, and more) was a good idea for Eric's bday, so we had a blast and a very late night, then the next morning we were all up at like 4:45am for the annual triathlon Eric does. During the tri I was not feeling great and was thinking oh man I might have this kiddo today, but first I had to get through hosting a big post-tri cookout and party. We successfully made it through all our festivities, got home late Sunday night, got in bed and promptly got out of bed and headed to the hospital to have little KJ. She was a simple delivery, as all of mine were and was perfect when she was born. We truly thank the Lord that a car seat test was done on Kira because on day 2 we learned that during the night she had failed the test and had some pretty serious apnea. She could not always remember to breathe. Into the NICU she went for a week and then finally we got things under control and headed home on a heart monitor that remained with us for 5 months! Now, you'd never know she had a bit of a dramatic start, although it's kind of par for the course for our little drama queen!

Kira, I love you so much and I can't wait to see all that God has in store for you. Happy Birthday Princess!
This morning we took a beach walk and I got to spend some wonderful time with the birthday girl.
