Reflections on Losing

This is the taller, less attractive, more competitive Mangin writing.

So during the Phillies game last night I had a sort of epiphany. It's not so much that I love winning or hate losing that makes me so competitive... it's that I ABSOLUTELY hate when someone else wins, especially at the my expense - such as my team losing to the despicable Yankees or being beaten by a girl at bowling. I don't get upset that I lost, I'm bigger than that. It's the fact that someone else won BECAUSE I lost. I can deal with losing - just not with other people winning. I haven't figured out yet if this is better or worse.

This is the rightful owner of this blog... and my opinion is that my husband has major issues with competition and is just seeing it now. Last night we could not happily watch the Phills lose, we (meaning, not me at all) had to be cranky and keep changing the channel to Myth Busters (which we have never, ever watched for even one second of our 8 years of marriage) and act like there was no World Series game on. We actually shut the game off and went to bed b/c why run the risk of seeing the Yankees celebrate their win. :)
Oh love, you make me laugh. I guess I should just be glad that you usually win at most things (except for the radio game- at which I am far superior) so that we don't have to deal with your little pouty responses to losing :)
Love you!
