This has been an insane week for us!! Sunday I left for VA for my training for the new job (thanks Mom for helping with the kids!) Then I came home on Wednesday night and Thursday began the weekend's festivities... Thursday I did have to work and also many of the Mangin side extended family began arriving from all over the country. We had dinner with Uncle Steve and his girls and then headed home. Friday, I had two staging jobs beginning at 8:30am and then I hurried over to the Mangins to begin organizing the anniversary party for Sat. We had a tent to pick up and assemble, 80 chairs to pick up, table to pick up, and LOTS of food to prep. In the midst of that I had a 1.5 hour conference call to participate in. Friday evening the whole Mangin clan got together to celebrate all August birthdays and just being together. We ordered cheesesteaks and pizza and had a nice time (all 30+ people). Saturday was Ken and Laurie's 50.30.50 party celebrating their 50th birthdays and 30th Anniversary. It was a beautiful day and the renewing of their vows was really special. I was the point person for the party, but I must thank all the helpers that assisted in getting 85+ people fed a full dinner. It went really smoothly! So yesterday was a full day to say the least! Sunday began bright and early at 5:25am for Eric's annual Steelman Triathlon. It is one of my favorite days of the summer! Eric competed along with Dan Emr, Kevin Jackson, Eric Schmidt, and MY DAD!! They all did great and we were particularly proud of Dad for doing the race even though his partner (me) dropped out due to a slight complication (baby #4). Eric did wonderfully and beat his time from last year- we are so proud of you hon! And no triathlon is complete without a picnic with friends and family, so we headed to the pool. It got really cold and rainy, so we all relaxed and watched the olympics. Finally at 5pm WE WERE HOME!! It was a busy week, but a good one filled with lots of fun, family, and memories (and of course pictures, but I am too tired to even think about them.)
Wednesday I leave again for another 3 day training, so keep us in your prayers (especially the kids) as we try to plug through these first few weeks of my job. I am really excited about it, but I am also looking forward to mid-September when I will be settled into a routine. So pics will come soon, but we just wanted to give you a little glimpse into our craziness!
