Many of you know that I have been working as a second shooter for Staci Landis Photographic Art... we have completed two weddings and we have our third this weekend. It has been quite a learning experience and I've had so much fun doing the weddings. Staci is an amazing photographer (check out her blog www.slphotographicart.blogspot.com) and I have learned a lot working with her. We're both new at this wedding thing, so each time we're tweaking things and figuring out how I can best assist her as the primary photographer. Basically my role as the 2nd shooter is to assist her, but also to be a set of eyes in the back of her head... I get to take fun shots of the people that don't usually make the album. Staci has a very photojournalistic style and that's awesome for me because it lets me try and catch candid shots of people just living real life. So it's been fun, challenging, and a wonderful learning experience. This weekend I am very excited because I rented a Pro Nikon camera (the D300) and a sweet piece of glass, and a flash too! This will give me a nice example of what a camera can do even with a very mediocre photographer behind it! I can't wait! To see pics of this weekend's wedding you will have to look on Staci's blog, because contractually I can't post pics until the client has all the images, which is about 30 days later... so check her blog out early next week and you'll get a peek at our work.
The pics in this slideshow are from our first wedding back in April. Forgive me, but I love B &W and so I put a ton in for the slideshow... These are a few that I took and hopefully with each wedding I'll improve! Enjoy!
